Questa fotografia di Oded Balilty dell’Associated Press ha vinto il Premio Pulitzer 2007 nella categoria "Breaking News Photography". Una colona ebreica si batte da sola contro le forze di sicurezza israeliane durante lo sgombero dei coloni illegali nel West Bank. La fotografia ha una carica simbolica eccezionale e una composizione fantastica. Viviamo nell’epoca del visivo, ma spesso di grande qualità perché senza senso e/o tecnicamente brutto. Non è il caso di questa fotografia che per me è semplicemente eccezionale.

Oded Balilty of Associated Press was awarded the 2007 Pulitzer Prize in the category "Breaking News Photography" for his powerful photograph of a lone Jewish woman defying Israeli security forces as they remove illegal settlers in the West Bank. It is highly symbolic and exceptionally well-composed. We live in the era of the visual communication, anyway it is very often a low-quality communication as it does not make any sense and/or it is technically awful. This is not the case of this photo: it is simply extraordinary.
